using food stamps to pay for bombs
I have executed your sons & daughters
in the name of life, liberty & the pursuit of war
I have singled out love in the Constitution
for family values are always nuclear
I have destroyed your forests, oceans & preserves
in search of the mighty oil
I have set limitations on who may live here
a nation of immigrants no more
I have persuaded you to spend, spend, spend
even though most are not able to afford a smile
I have arrested millions for victimless crimes
to stimulate & employ the prison economy

sometimes i wish you were here as my eyes swelled
when the first glimpse of pain lay its track down my cheek
like a fine pinot noir's legs caressing a short stemmed riedel
on its way to enchant mouth, nose, soul
savoring the experience, not questioning the process
sometimes i wish you were here as my eyes swelled
i wonder how much we really understand one another
i wonder how much we allow ourselves to blossom one another
sometimes all i wish is for your arms to find their way, twisted
passionately locked together around my naked being
my favorite comfort your sensual embrace

Dear Fellow Portland Housing/Homeless Activists:
Homelessness is increasing worldwide. Housing costs are skyrocketing. Governments are more inclined to support tax cuts for the wealthy than help for low income people. Drastic cuts of essential entitlement or safety net programs are looming on the horizon--courtesy of the Bush Administration and U.S. Congress.
To truly end homelessness and poverty worldwide, we need to do more than just develop 10 year plans to end homelessness or bureaucracies to study the problem.
This is why the National Coalition for the Homeless, the nation's oldest and largest national homelessness advocacy organization, supports such proactive legislative initiatives as the National Affordable Housing Trust Fund and the Bringing America Home Act. If enacted by Congress, both pieces of legislation would end homelessness in this country.
In addition to tackling the roots causes of poverty (lack of affordable housing, no universal health insurance, and poor-paying jobs) in this country and elsewehere, we support the development/operation of tent cities and other alternative housing models.
We join you in this international day of solidarity pushing for an end to homelessness and poverty today, not ten years from now.

Exit Karma offers root to all souls that suffer
local city hall spreads one life-sized door
revolving around self around action around other

consistent illusion of ego whirls 'round
only Bodhisattvas see through glass entry

Grass roots suffocate under young, worn shoes.
Daily thunder stompers trounce gaily, startling all wet,
delicate, new life creation of iridescent organia.
Children laugh, unaware of their distinct destruction.
Single tulip blossoms maroon in purple twilight of sunset
years later. Bouncing baby barons successfully distract
eden flowers, hoarding water & radiant light for their
"humane" beauty. Scientific researchers now investigate karma!
Rain beads land upon Venus-silver hair. Forgotten accents
of neurotic passion highlighted. Continuous mercury fall
steadily burns vengeful bodies. Inspired delusion this
material give all & receive more situational stigma
which saturates today's mainstream society.
History doomed to command its past for our future. Running feet
care not to endure speeding over broken glass Coke bottles.
Drunk man on the corner please share your wisdom with all.
"What did you say again Bill W?"
Children: do well & expect nothing.
Adults: do well & expect nothing.
Civilization of all forms: do well & expect nothing!
Peace is the remains of your lovers lips
upon yours, salty
after intimate, persuasive pleasures.
Dying grasses omit pungent stenches like death cradles
rocking skunks. If you have not an answer by now
hear this: give to all more than you would give to yourself.
Do not run away
trample on, spit upon
nor frolic-sway
from the truth that rocks our souls & spins us while we dance.
Breathe in, breathe out
close your eyes, meditate.

| Portland Education Crisis... |

Eight schools will be closing in North and NE Portland because of budget cuts. Even though we pay an extra tax in Multnomah County I don't understand why our children still suffer in the inner cities. No schools on the West side of the river will be shut down.
